Sharpen®

Herbicide

Sharpen up the speed and spectrum of weed control

ACVM Registration No.P008391

Active ingredient(s): 700 g/kg Saflufenacil
Formulation: Water dispersible granules (WG)

Sharpen has rapidly established itself as a key herbicide to help reduce early weed competition, filling a gap in the burndown market for a flexible and efficient broadleaf herbicide to complement the grass weed specialists.

Key benefits

  • Fast, robust control of key broadleaf weeds
  • Mix with acetochlor to control both grass & broadleaf weeds for up to 8 weeks
  • Excellent residual activity on atrazine-resistant fathen

How it works

Sharpen® is a Group E PPO (protoporphyrinogen-IX-oxidase) mode of action herbicide. It is rapidly absorbed through the roots and foliage of plants. Within a few hours following application, the foliage of susceptible weeds shows signs of desiccation, and in subsequent days necrosis and death. Extremes in environmental conditions (temperature and moisture), soil conditions and cultural practices may affect the activity of Sharpen. Under warm, moist conditions, herbicide symptoms may be accelerated. Under very dry conditions the expression of herbicidal symptoms is delayed, and weeds hardened off by drought are less susceptible to Sharpen.
