BASF New Zealand launches inaugural Biggest AgriPhoto Competition

  • Farmers, growers and agri-professionals are invited to capture big, or small, moments that embody their love of farming.
  • The competition runs from 16 October to 13 November 2024, with 4 weekly winners and one grand winner to share the prize pool of over NZD $5,500

Auckland, New Zealand – 14 October 2024 – BASF New Zealand is excited to announce the launch of its inaugural Biggest AgriPhoto Competition, inviting Kiwi farmers and rural communities from across the country to showcase their love of farming through photography. With a generous prize pool of more than NZD $5,500, this is a unique opportunity for those involved in agriculture to share and celebrate their love for the land, people and family.

The competition runs from 16 October to 13 November 2024, with a prize pool of over NZD $5,500 up for grabs. Weekly Winners will each receive an Apple iPad 10.9-inch 256GB Wi-Fi (Silver) [10th Gen] RRP over NZ$900, while the Grand Prize Winner will be awarded a DJI Air 3 4K Drone RRP over $2,200. High-resolution images can be submitted through the BASF New Zealand website.

This year's competition encourages participants to capture and share the moments – big or small – that highlight their deep connection to farming. Whether it's the early morning sun illuminating a field of crops, the long days on the tractor, or the beauty and precision of a well-maintained orchard, the Biggest AgriPhoto Competition encourages farmers and growers to capture the often-unseen passion and commitment that makes farming the biggest job on earth.

“We are thrilled to bring the Biggest AgriPhoto Competition to New Zealand. This is an exciting milestone for us,” said Parvana Wali, Head of BASF Agricultural Solutions Australia and New Zealand. “This competition is a way for us to recognise and celebrate the hard work and passion that drive the New Zealand agricultural sector. We’re eager to see how participants capture the unique essence of Kiwi farming through their lenses.”

The Biggest AgriPhoto Competition is the first of its kind to be held in New Zealand and was inspired by the success of BASF Australia’s Biggest AgriPhoto Competition, held last year. Winning entries from the Australian competition featured lush crop fields, dramatic weather scenes, and warm family moments in rural Australia. BASF New Zealand is calling on Kiwis across the country to go one better than their Trans-Tasman cousins and snap images that embody the spirit of New Zealand agriculture.

Weekly Winners will be announced throughout the competition, with the Grand Prize Winner revealed on 15 November 2024.
